My daughter has just gone through a bunch of fire prevention and safety activities at school. I had talked with her many times about what to do to get out of the house if there were ever a fire, but I didn’t want to do it in a way that scared her. I wasn’t sure what to do or say, but I knew I had to do something. I am grateful that her school did a series of events about this very thing, because I was relatively sure that they would do it in a way that was age appropriate for her.
